FAQ
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Once your application is approved you will be contacted by a country representative. Country representatives are working on behalf of the participants trying to arrange the best possible matches for you before the final event. Last minute applications will have less exposure and less chances to find quality matches.
WHO ARE THE ACTORS IN ELIGIBLE PROJECTS?
The actors involved in the projects to be funded must come from the field of civil society
in Germany, as well as France or Poland, and the Eastern Partnership countries or Russia.
Actors outside the field of governance and business thus form the target group of the measures.

Typical actors include the media, associations, foundations (including the political
foundations), institutions of higher education, youth associations, culture professionals, and
other non-governmental organizations. Public-service broadcasters are also regarded as part of civil society.

Actors involved in governance or business can only be regarded as part of civil society in exceptional cases when civil-society actors do not exist because of local conditions and
when the concrete measures to be funded provide sufficient guarantee that the political aims
being pursued will be achieved.

Organizations from Poland and France must be NGOs only (no cultural institutions, universities, or foundations).
WHO CAN NOT PARTICIPATE?
Organizations will not be allowed to participate in the event if they promote a cult of violence and cruelty, racial, national, or religious intolerance and discrimination; they articulate in their activities gender or other stereotypes that undermine the honor and dignity of any social group or individuals.
show me more
WHAT FIELD OF WORK THE CIVIL-SOCIETY ACTORS SHOULD BE?
The civil-society actors may be from any field of work, but the topics to collaborate in developing projects are only as mentioned on the website – Pluralism and Media, Culture and Youth, Educational Training Measures, Conflict Resolution.
HOW THE NETWORKING WILL BE ORGANIZED?
Civil Match is an online event held on the platform Hopin that we can imagine as our venue. After you send the application and get approved for participation, you will receive a detailed guide on how to use it.The networking will be organized in different areas:
  • Reception Area with a complete overview of the agenda
  • Main Stage where the Civil Match Speakers will be hosting presentations
  • Sessions Area with all the workshops, roundtables, and hangout sessions
  • You can connect with other event participants 1-on-1 in the Networking Area
In the Expo Area, you can find virtual booths hosted by the Country Representatives and Donors.
WHO ARE THE COUNTRY REPRESENTATIVES AND HOW THEY CAN HELP YOU?
Country Representative is kind of an agent, that knows the overall information about everything and sees the best opportunities for all the participants from her/his country. He/she works hard to find the best matches for you before the final event in July.

If you are not registered yet.
Do it as soon as possible so that your Country Representative has more time to organize everything needed for your best cross border match and further collaboration.

If your application is already approved.
The first thing you do is whitelist our email address info@civil-match.online, to make sure you receive all the instructions and confirmation details in time. We send confirmations every Monday, if you missed it check your spam folder.
WHAT ARE THE TRACKS?
Pluralism and media

Project to work on: training of journalists, bloggers, and other media actors, work-placement programs in Germany for journalists. Plus projects enhancing media competence via measures in schools and universities or in other fields of civic education.

Culture and youth

Project to work on: measures aimed at teaching the values, such as respect for human rights, the legitimacy of the administration, the independence of the judiciary, the right of the individual to life and self-determination, the principle of majority rule, are particularly important in times of political tensions. These include facilitating dialogue and meetings between civil-society groups, as well as a large number of formats from all areas of cultural life.

Education training measures

Project to work on: academic, professional, and socio-political training and further training measures, including via the awarding of scholarships. The target group is primarily, but not exclusively, young people.

Conflict resolution

Project to work on: civil-society cooperation measures that use instruments from the fields of culture and education with the aim of restoring the willingness to conduct dialogue, rebuilding understanding between groups affected by territorial conflicts, and thus restoring lost trust and overcoming prejudices.
HOW MANY PEOPLE FROM A CIVIL-SOCIETY ACTOR CAN PARTICIPATE?
There should be no more than 4 persons from 1 organization, and no more than 1 person in each track. So that you can have chances to collaborate with at least 4 other international NGOs.
WHAT IS THE AIM OF THE CIVIL MATCH?
The aim of the Civil Match is to create an intense environment to foster collaboration, incubate ideas, support the development of new impactful projects, and focus on effective international partnerships for NGOs.

Сivil Match is organized to enhance social cohesion and the establishment of civil-society structures and to promote the principles of a fundamentally free, democratic and pluralist order, thus fostering peaceful coexistence among nations in Europe.
HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY PLAY A PART IN CIVIL MATCH?
To make the best out of your Civil Match Experience, you should be ready to actively network, have a catchy elevator pitch and be proactive with your ideas of collaboration. Starting from July 24 till the moment of the Award Ceremony on July 26, a lot of brainstorming, creativity, and joy of meaningful communication will be happening. Enjoy and benefit from it fully!
WHAT IS CIVIL MATCH FORUM?
Civil Forum 21-24 September 2020 is a 4-days event and a great opportunity to develop further cross-border projects. You can apply for the participation in the Civil Match Forum without being part of the Civil Match, but your chances are significantly higher if you first get acquainted with all the details and get the experience at the Civil Match.
